Pilatus Quilters Quilt Show

This week was a very quilty week, with our monthly quilt guild meeting on Monday and a group visit to a quilt show in Stansstaad, near Luzern . Together with 7 other guild members we took the scenic Voralpenexpress train half way across Switzerland to Stansstaad a little town located right on the shores of the”Vierwaldstädtersee” lake.

There the Pilatus Quilters, a group of 13 women were showing their quilts from the last 3 years in the Sust Museum. What a lovely building it was to show these beautiful quilts!

In addition to the quilts that were on show, there were various crafts on sale.

I love these little pumpkins which decorated one of the windows.

I have to say although there were so many beautiful quilts, I loved the simplicity and quilting on this chevron, which has always been a favorite pattern of mine.

One of the challenges on display featured ‘Luzern’  themed mini quilts.

This one shows the Luzern Carnival in full swing.

This quilt used this unique African themed fabric, which I found very beautiful.

This modern sampler wedding quilt was so large I couldn’t get it all in. I loved the color way and the fantastic quilting on it.
