Today's hand appliqué project of this little hexie flower for a big bed quilt.

Sorting out all my fabric in a major 'spring cleaning spree' at the beginning of the year, I came across a few scraps from the very first quilt I made for my niece back in 2013 or so.
I couldn't believe how beautiful the fabric was and don't even remember buying it. But I knew immediately that I wanted to do something with it for myself. So I began a new hexie project, as I had the supplies already for 7/8ths of an inch hexies.
I don't know what it will be but I've decided to try to find the rest of the scraps from that first quilt and just see where it takes me.
It's just something quicker, easier and more portable, than my current EPP quilt blocks which I'm appliquéing.
And quite honestly I've missed the simple process of cutting out pieces of fabric, with scissors and thread basting them.
Something a bit different from my regularly machine pieced quilt I began also this week.
I'm really loving it.
