Today’s post for My Creative Inspiration is this painting which I saw on a visit to Cody, Wyoming (USA) last June. This painting which hangs/ hung in the Smithsonian museum there, is a painting of a pioneer woman as she sits in her covered wagon at the beginning of or during her journey.
Ever since I first saw this painting, it stopped me in my tracks and I knew it would ‘stay with me’ for a very long time. Inspiring me to move forward in all of my ‘pioneering’ ideas.
It would inspire me to follow my dreams, wherever they may lead me and to be creative, whether it is in my quilting or my writing, which is the subject I have decided to write about in this post today.
These last couple of weeks I have spent a lot of time in my garden.
So today in My Creative Inspiration series, I would like to tell you a bit about how my garden has been inspiring me lately.
So go get a nice cup of something, get comfy in your favorite chair and come exploring with me in my garden!
When I started to learn to sew, over three years ago, I had never touched a sewing machine. I had hardly picked up a needle to sew either, aside from some emergency repairs under my mother’s watchful eye. So when I started to look for a new sewing machine in 2012, I did a lot […]Read Post ›

Finding Me, has been a big topic for me these last past weeks and so, what better way to kick start my first pages of my Smash Book than with that topic in mind. When I started this project, last Thursday (3 days ago) I came across this Smash Book 30 Day Challenge from […]Read Post ›
I have been searching for another outlet to be more creative on a daily basis. I am a passionate quilter, and I love to write and take photographs, but in the last couple of months, I have been concentrating solely on my quilting. I do have other creative pastimes like sewing, cooking and occasionally, when the weather is good, gardening. […]Read Post ›
Last weekend I had a friend visiting from Zurich. When we started, the weather wasn’t great for anything major, but good enough for a ‘quick’ walk. Now if you are using my husband’s definition of a ‘quick walk’, you will find that this only extends to the perimeter of the neighborhood, so maybe if […]Read Post ›
Today I had a hard time trying to come up with how I would approach this post. I knew I wanted to use up all the unused, decent, photos that I had taken last week, but how was I supposed to make all those little moments, that didn’t fit into any of last weeks posts and […]Read Post ›
